HSL's Audio Video distribution range uses hardware-based media diodes and single-strand fiber optic AV extenders to move video, audio and USB signals over long distances, and to eliminate the eavesdropping and data exfiltration risks that come with shared audio and video peripherals.

HSL's media diodes connect between a source computer and an audio or video device such as a speaker, headphone, microphone, webcam or videobar, and enforce a unidirectional flow of data. This prevents attackers from repurposing a speaker as a microphone, from transmitting data through high-frequency audio signals, or from using a shared webcam to move data between networks.
